I've Been mowing for 25 Hrs on my new BX 2200 at full throttle and then I read the manual. How bad is this? I would also like to buy a bush hog, any suggestions? Thanks-Babb

I wouldn't worry too much--it's done now. The engine probably will work fine over a normal life span. It may burn a little more oil than normal. ....

I read your note before buying my BX2200 and asked the salesman about the catalog recommendation. He said it's ok to run at full throttle from the start, saying it's better for the fuel injectors to run full blast. ....

The main thing I've heard about breaking in an engine is don't do any one thing for very long at a time. Frequently varying the rpm and throttle is good. I believe that some break-in procedures recommend avoiding sustained high rpm's for awhile. However, I'm not sure anybody says that 'babying' an engine during break-in is good for it. I've heard that periodically running full throttle is good for injectors, but I haven't heard that as a part of engine break-in. I'd have to believe the sales person that no break-in rpm restrictions are applied. I am curious about the logic of using high rpm's to 'break-in' the injectors. ....
